What challenges await a national universal health care option?

Universal health care seems like the most viable option and is successful at least in Massachusetts and implemented in Hawaii via employers providing insurance to workers who work 20 hours a week. I like these ideas. As the only industrialized country without universal health care we are lagging ... more

Why not Single Payer for all Americans

Single Payer Is like Medicare and Veterans coverage that we already have. Would save the most money and help the economy. Is it that our elected representatives are so indebted to the insurance industry they will not listen to their constituents and do what is best for the future of our people an... more

DO NOT PASS ANY HCARE legis doesn't include Sanders S898/protects states rt to singlepayer

WhatEVER healthcare legislation gets passed - unless it's HR676 - states need to retain the right to go through with their own legislation already on the books such as in California which has already twice passed its own single payer publicly financed universal healthcare bill.

If members of the congress were not guaranteed the best healthcare at no cost you might view this situation differently.

Why can't we acknowledge that profit-maximizing behavior is what is 'broken' about the status quo?

The profits themselves are bad enough when extracted for something President Obama acknowledged is a right. What is worse is that cherry picking healthy policy holders to avoid payouts dilutes the concept of a shared risk pool, i.e. insurance. Consequently, we get rejections for pre-existing cond... more

Why aren't voter-endorsed outcomes (all in, provider choice, effective treatment) nonnegotiable?

The current employer-based, private insurance model meets none of these criteria. No other nation whose health outcomes are better than ours uses this model. These outcomes are reflected in President Obama's principles that must be met. Why then is there a presumption that our solution must inclu... more

Why do the "moderate" Democrats think we should care if the vile insurance companies survive or not?

Health insurance companies have lied, cheated, stolen, overcharged, underpaid, and acted callously and fraudulently for years. No one trusts the word of a health insurance company. Why are so-called moderate Democrats trying to preserve the health insurance company racket?

How many Citizens' Universal healthcare premium can be covered by 1 F-22?

Bob Gates' and the Air Force's position is that we don't need anymore F-22s. We have 141 already at a cost of nearly $140M each that will probably never be used. Congress wants to give us 36 more.
    Where's our Universal Healthcare, Congress?

Why can't Medicare be just like the Military Single Payer System, with Government Negotiating prices

CO-OP health care won't work and it‘s a COP-OUT. If the USA Government can't stand up to the big insurance., drug and phar. companies. , then how do you think a little co-op can?

We need a NON-PROFIT Public Health Care system or a SINGLE PAYER system, run by the Federal Government; and NOT like... more
