Why do building codes not require renewable energy resourses built in to new homes?

If green is so in then why do building codes not require a source of renewable energy like wind and solar, to be built into new homes? It would create jobs for the renewable energy manufacturers and also could possibly create a new cost effective version of these resources.

Can more be done to incentivise residential small energy(solar, wind) and a distributed power grid,

Can more be done to increase incentives for residential small energy(solar, wind, biomass) feeding into -a distributed power grid? This would have a twofold benefit. it would increase our energy independence and improve our national security by reducing the number of large targets that could be... more

Why is there not more emphasis on conservation?

We could significantly reduce our energy consumption by properly weatherizing our homes and places of business. We should also mandate and/or subsidize the use of energy efficient lighting such as led's and fluorescent's.

Why aren't you guiding the nation toward better, sustainable and innnovative energy policies?

Why aren't you guiding the nation toward better, sustainable and innnovative energy policies? Why are you using legislation and the power of congress to meddle and interfere with free market dynamics and inevitable progress?

Why is no one concerned about the fact we have reached peak oil? In 40 years oil will be scarce.

If you look at the EIA published results on oil production and reserves it doesn't take a math expert to see we can't continue to rely on crude oil. It doesn't take a genius either to see that price of oil will continue to rise as demand is increasing in China and India which will offset any drop... more

What reparations will be required from the coal industry to offset their mercury/carbon footprints?

For years the coal industry has been using our air as a dumping ground for pollution. Mercury and carbon dioxide as well as soot have been suylling the skies. Whole moutains in West Virginia have been destroyed to mine the coal. Thousands of coal miners over the years have suffered from black lun... more

If you don't vote for the cleanest energy for the highest good of the people, why are you in Congres

No brainer. The highest value is the quality survival of our children and their children and of all the children of the planet, human, animal, vegetable and mineral. The lowest value is oil and coal company profits and their contributions to your reelection. Clean energy along with the jobs it... more

Once the bill is in place, who will be the oversight to make sure the money gets spent wisely?

This bill will not be the slightest bit effective if the money gets wasted instead of wisely spent for the purposes for which it was intended.

Why are we allowing other countries to take the lead in the area of green, renewable energy?

If we allow other countries to take the lead in green energy we risk losing the opportunity of creating the new innovation in this country and so the opportunity to influence policy for the rest of the world

Why are we pushing alternative energy sources that won't work and are bad for America?

Wind, solar, geothermal, biofuels, etc.that, from a purely scientific and engineering perspective, will never produce enough energy and are largely unworkable, are a waste of time and resources. Why are we not getting government out of the way of more domestic drilling, less diversity in types o... more

Why are you so afraid of alternative energy? Could it be your loyalty to traditional sources?

Why are you so afraid of moving toward an economy based on the use of alternative energy sources that are well proven in other countries? Can you really say we need to go slow when our traditional sources are running out quickly. Can you really say you're concerned about the bigger picture—our e... more

Where is funding for green transportation, particularly trains and transit?

Given that a good chunk of the revenues raised by the ACES bill will come from transportation users, shouldn't we get a better transportation system in return, one that is less centered on the automobile and gives people greener mobility options, such as expanded public transportation and more pa... more

Why can't we give tax incentives to those who do not have children? They pollute less.

People who chose not to have kids, get vasectomies or hysterectomies, do not contribute as much pollution or energy consumption. They should get a tax break rather than paying more.
