Subsidize R&D with current manufacturers of solar and wind power to produce a new innovative generation of equipment withing a given period, say one year.
Subsidize sales sources for solar and wind power devices by zero federal taxes for one year for new technology sales.
Subsidize home buyers by a reduction from their federal taxes.

I have been saying this since back in the seventies when we had the the "gas/oil crunch" if we gave even better incentives than we have currently to builders, business, renewable energy manufacturers, and consumers. The cost of renewable energy would would decrease. The increase in demand would would generate the need for more advanced production lines that would produce more devices at much lower and more affordable costs

Apparently so, Branchard, apparently so. The mass public doesn't understand any thing unless it comes to LOADS of nickels and dimes or if it's flashy and entertaining. Fortunately, it doesn't apply to the individual, but it's going to take the mass public to move if we intend to get any thing done.

We need incentives to push for more private home and business solar systems to reduce the need for big solar arrays on public lands which can create problems for wildlife migration.

How about funding the public health care option with a carbon tax or a gasoline tax tied to the crude oil price??

Yes, but it seems to me that people hate change, so you need to offer both carrot and stick. Create rewards for clean living, but perhaps also create punishments for the status quo: lower taxes on clean energy _and_ higher taxes on dirty energy.

Phrase the question in a way to evoke action: What are you going to do to create better tax incentives to businesses and consumers to use alternative energy?

Is it necessary for the government to reward the American people for taking steps to prevent their own extinction? Really?
